Antique Weller Louwelsa Floral Pottery Vase

A beautiful antique Weller Louwelsa art pottery vase in the coveted Standard Glaze line. This hand-painted vase features warm yellow flowers with soft green foliage against Weller’s rich, glossy brown glaze. The rounded bulb form and expertly executed floral decoration make it an excellent example of early American art pottery.

The underside bears the impressed LOUWELSA WELLER mark along with Shape No. 538 and a “2” size/decorator designation. The Louwelsa line was one of Weller Pottery’s earliest and most successful art pottery lines, produced in Zanesville, Ohio beginning in the late 1890s and continuing into the early 20th century.

Whether displayed alone or incorporated into a collection of American art pottery, this vase is a wonderful example of the Arts & Crafts movement and Weller’s renowned Standard Glaze production.

Condition
