The polished handles are securely pinned to early-century "Firths Stainless" steel blades, a revolutionary corrosion-resistant steel pioneered by Thomas Firth & Sons in Sheffield.
The set is complete and beautifully preserved in its original black leatherette presentation box, lined with rich cream satin and deep navy blue velvet slots.
Condition Report:
Knives: Excellent vintage condition. The mother-of-pearl handles are secure, smooth, and free of cracks or heavy chips. The steel blades are bright with very minimal surface wear and crisp, clear manufacturer stamps ("Crusade" Sheffield / Firths Stainless).
Presentation Case: Very good structural condition. The hinges and front clasp function smoothly. The interior satin lining shows minor age-related discoloration, which is typical for a set of this era
